Friday nights there is a free planetarium show at North Georgia College in Dahlonega on the second floor of Natural & Health Sciences Building. Seating opens at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:00 pm and goes to 9:00 pm.

Friday nights are public nights at the North Georgia Astronomical Observatory after the planetarium show for Observatory-Planetarium Public Education Nights (OPEN), weather permitting. The Friday OPEN program always begins at 9:30 pm during daylight or standard time. Call 706-864-8642 after 5:30 pm EST (7:30 pm EDT) for daily operational status. The observatory is located in a dark observation site and houses a 16” telescope.
